Friday, March 4, 2022 (Fagun 20, 2078) : IPPAN team led by VP, Mr. Ganesh Karki met with NTNC officials to discuss the recent letters issued by Gaurishankar Conservation area obstructing the construction works of hydropower projects as well as their admission into the conservation area. The meeting was attended by EC members Mr. Prakash Chandra Dulal, and Mr. Uttam Bhlon Lama from IPPAN side and Dr. Manish Raj Pandey, Dr. Chiranjibi Pokhrel from NTNC side. Vice President Karki handed over a letter Mr. Sharad Adhikari, Member Secretary of NTNC requesting him for a quick solution to the aforementioned problem.
IPPAN team submitted to Member Secretary of NTNC that it was improper for the concerned project head to abruptly halt the construction works of all the projects without any discussion whatsoever. Mr. Adhikari, assured IPPAN to take stock of the actual situation and do the needful to resolve this issue and also expressed his eagerness to undertake exemplary work in the coming days by carrying out both development and environmental protection together.
