VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

 

Position: Communication Manager

The Independent Power Producers’ Association, Nepal (IPPAN), the national umbrella organization of independent power producers and renewable energy developers, invites applications from qualified, dynamic, and result-oriented Nepali citizens for the position of Communication Manager.

Position Summary

The Communication Manager will be responsible for leading IPPAN’s overall communication, public relations, media relations, communication, branding, stakeholder engagement, policy advocacy communication, digital communication, corporate publications etc. The position will play a key role in strengthening IPPAN’s visibility and positioning it as the leading voice of Nepal’s hydropower and renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop IPPAN’s communication and public relations strategy.
  • Manage media relations, digital platforms, publications, and corporate branding.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement with government agencies, members, developers, financial institutions, development partners, media, and other stakeholders.
  • Support policy advocacy through communication materials, policy briefs, and campaigns.
  • Coordinate communication for Power Summit, Himalayan Hydro Expo, IPPAN Day, AGM, and other flagship events.
  • Prepare speeches, press releases, newsletters, annual reports, and other publications as per requirement.
  • Lead crisis communication management initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Mass Communication/Journalism or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in communication, public relations, Reporting or editing, media relations, branding, stakeholder engagement, policy advocacy, marketing, or corporate affairs.
  • Experience in the energy, infrastructure, renewable energy, private sector associations, development organizations, or related sectors will be given preference.

 

Required Competencies

  • Excellent communication and writing skills in English and Nepali.
  • Strong knowledge of strategic communication, media relations, stakeholder engagement, digital communication, branding, and policy advocacy.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital communication tools; experience with website and social media management is desirable.
