Bhote Koshi Power Company Private Limited (BKPC) is the first privately funded, run of the river power project in Nepal. It is situated in Sindhupalchowk District of central Nepal and is approximately 110 kilometers northeast of Kathmandu. The Project is a 36 MW power plant with 2 turbine/generator units. The promoters of BKPC are Himal International Energy Private Limited, International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Montgomery Watson Harza (MWH). BKPC is managed by Tara Management Private Limited.

Butwal Power Company
(BPC)
Butwal Power Company Limited (BPC) is a leading hydropower developer of Nepal. BPC became a public company since February 1993. After privatization of the company in 2003 the principal
shareholders of BPC are the Private Shareholders (Shangri-la Energy Limited and Interkraft Norway) and
Ministry of Water Resources, HMG/N.
BPC owns and operates the 12 MW
Jhimriuk Hydropower Plant and the 5.1 MW AndhiKhola
Hydropower Plant. Besides supplying power to the
national electricity grid, the company has electrified
more than 20,000 households through these power plants
under its rural electrification program.
It owns 14.9% of the shares in
Khimti I Hydropower Plant (60 MW) and 48.6% of the
shares in Nepal Hydro and Electric Pvt. Ltd.

Himal Power Ltd. (HPL)
The Khimti I Hydropower Project is the first private
sector power project in Nepal, based on a
Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) structure. The power
plant is owned and operated through the company, Himal
Power Limited.
Himal Power Limited was established in 2049 BS (1993)
when Butwal Power Company (BPC) together with the
Norwegian companies Statkraft SF, Alstom Power a.s.
(formerly ABB Kraft), and GE Energy a.s. (formerly
Kværner
Energy) registered HPL under Nepal's Company Act 2021
BS.
In addition to the investors, the International
Finance Corporation (IFC), the Asian Development Bank (ADB),
Eksportfinans a.s., the Norwegian Agency for Development
Cooperation (NORAD) and the Nordic Development Fund (NDF)
have contributed to the financing of HPL.

Ltd. (LEDCO)
Lamjung Electricity Development Company (LEDCO) is a
community owned company dedicated to developing modern
forms of energy through renewable energy technologies.
LEDCO's mission is to provide clean and reliable source
of energy by tapping the natural resource in an
economically viable, environmentally responsible and
socially sensitive manner. LEDCO presently has
approximately 220 shareholders which includes
individuals, NGOs, Village Development Committees and
District Development Committees of Lamjung District.
Supported by this base LEDCO aims to produce and
distribute electrical power to Lamjung District as well
as the national grid.
Presently, LEDCO's work is divided along two lines:
Track 1, and Track 2. Activities under Track 1 include
the development of small hydropower projects which are
to supply electricity to the national grid. These
projects are commercial ventures that aim to provide
dividends to shareholders of LEDCO, and partially
finance activities for Track 2. Track 2 activities
include rural energy planning and development
activities, which are implemented with social objectives
of promoting rural electrification and improving the
standard of living of the local population.

Sanima Hydropower Company (P) Ltd.
Sanima Hydropower (P) Ltd. (SHPL) was established in March 1999 in Kathmandu Nepal with the main objective to promote hydropower sector of Nepal through the private investment as a part of contribution to the overall development of the country. Its major share holders are: a group of the non-resident Nepalese (NRNs) and Sanima Hydro and Engineering (P.) Limited represented mainly by the engineering professionals.
The 2.5 MW Sunkoshi Small Hydropower Project (SSHP) was the first hydropower project of SHPL built under BOOT (Build, Own, Operate & Transfer) basis. The Project is in commercial operation since 24 March 2005. The Engineering Department of SHPL had undertaken the revised feasibility study of the 2.5 MW SSHP, its detailed engineering design, engineering management and construction supervision and had brought the project into successful commissioning.
SHPL has in-house engineering department for the purpose of carrying out the feasibility study of small and medium hydropower projects including detailed engineering design, project management as well as construction supervision of the Projects. It also looks for the operation and maintenance issues of the power plant.
