GMR resumes works
The Indian infrastructure development company GMR Energy has said that all
construction work at the Upper Karnali has now resumed and that all survey-related work
on the Upper Marshyangdi II will also start by the end of this week.
No backtrack on Upper Karnali
The government has made it clear that the 300-MW Upper Karnali Hydro Electricity
Project (UKHEP) was awarded to the Indian company GMR Consortium as per the
decision made by the then-parliamentary committees comprising the representatives of all
parties including the UCPN (Maoists).
